Class Description

Yoga classes are live stream and in studio.  The classes focus on blending breathing exercises, asana practice (poses), and mindfulness to find balance in mind, body and spirit.  See class description for more information.

GENTLE HATHA YOGA

A calming, stress-relieving yoga class to stretch and strengthen the body gradually.   We begin with breath work (pranayama) to calm the body and the mind.   Warming the body with gentle movements to open the joints and  to access the poses (asanas) more safely.   Ending  with relaxation,  guided visualization and meditation.   Recommended for students of all levels.
Props available at studio or BYO (ex: large towel, blocks, strap/belt).

HATHA/ALIGNMENT YOGA

This empowering alignment-based Hatha yoga class focuses on engagement, strong alignment and may have longer holds in poses to recruit activation of muscle groups and challenge you in new ways. Class may be a full-spectrum of poses for overall body stretching and strengthening or targeted focus pose work. Leave feeling strong, knowledgeable and aligned.  All levels. class.

VIN YIN YOGA

Vin/Yin is a marriage of the strong, yang Vinyasa Yoga with the receptive Yin Yoga. Active, yet grounding sun salutations and standing flows are offered in the first half of class to enliven the body and chase away any fatigue. The Yin half of class, on the other hand, offers passive, seated and supine poses that are held for anywhere from 2 – 5 minutes on each side. The Yin aspect helps to switch off fight-or-flight mode, promoting balance throughout the nervous system and allowing for a sense of peace and relaxation.   All level class.

RESTORATIVE YOGA

This class is all about you. Restorative Yoga uses lots of props to find comfort in poses that help you let go, and relax. The goal is no muscle activation so you can truly release tension. You will leave feeling refreshed and relaxed. Restorative yoga has shown to promote healthy cell growth and is deeply therapeutic for anxiety, depression and insomnia.  Class is perfect for all levels and those recovering from injuries.

DEEP RELAXATION

We all need time to go within, find peace, relax and renew….
Drop into a deeply relaxing space by letting go of tension in fully supported and restorative postures. Gain the equilibrium of your body, mind and spirit and allow deep surrender and incredible opening. Postures are held for long periods of time, fully supported by blankets, bolsters and props while practicing centering techniques, breath-work, meditation and guided visualizations. Class is perfect for all levels and those recovering from injuries.

YOGA NIDRA 

Yoga Nidra- “yogic sleep,”  a practice that stimulates deep relaxation. In a Yoga Nidra session your mind is guided through a series of steps that slow it down to the  alpha/theta wave lengths.  That state between waking consciousness and deep sleep, simultaneously at rest and completely alert. You will feel completely relaxed but energized.  Class is perfect for all levels and those recovering from injuries.

CHAIR YOGA

This gentle practice make yoga accessible to everyone with support of a chair. We do postures that focus on lengthening the muscles and improve our posture and circulation. This practice is perfect for those whom have difficulty standing, limited mobility or sever aches and pains. No yoga mat required.

ONCOLOGY YOGA

An evidence based Oncology yoga class to help cancer patients and survivors manage treatment side effects and cancer recovery.  Make sure to check with your physician to ensure it is safe for you to attend classes. Bring a mat, large towel, water bottle and dress in comfy clothes.  No prior yoga experience needed.

REIKI AND MEDITATION FOR CANCER PATIENTS
Relax in a Zero Gravity Chair, listening to soft background music and guided meditations to help reduce anxiety, improve sleep, deal with change, and increase relaxation.  Each person receives a mini Reiki energy healing treatment.
